TRAIN services are being severely disrupted again tonight after a person was killed on the track near Chadwell Heath.

The mainline was closed for two hours in both directions following the fatality at 8pm.

Some services had to be cancelled while others were delayed or altered while an investigation into the death took place.

Rail operator One said services were still suffering “severe delays” in the aftermath of the line closure.

It is the second night running services have been disrupted by a death on the rail track. Last night, trains came to a standstill for two hours following a fatality at Marks Tey.

A spokeswoman for One apologised to rail passengers for the inconvenience caused by the delays.
