ANGLIA Railways is encouraging passengers to use public transport before letting the train take the strain.

A new guide shows bus, taxi and community transport links to all Anglia's stations. Cycle and car parking facilities are also listed.

Anglia's PR manager Peter Meades said he hoped the guide would help people plan their journeys.

And he said he recognised that travelling to the station was part of the train-travelling experience.

The guide's launch ties-in with new through-ticketing for summer travel.

Cheap Day Returns to Ipswich, Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Bury St Edmunds will all now include a free bus into the town centre.

Mr Meades said the new initiatives would strengthen Anglia's integrated transport policy.

The company was a joint winner of the HSBC rail business awards for integrated transport scheme of the year.
