COMMUTERS and other rail passengers face an afternoon and evening of misery with services being cancelled and disrupted because of damage to the overhead lines at Kelvedon between Witham and Marks Tey in Essex.
ONE railways have said problems causing major relays on the trains today should be sorted out by 8pm today.

Services to and from Liverpool Street to Colchester, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Clacton-on-Sea, Harwich and Braintree were thrown into chaos by the problems, with delays of up to an hour.
The InterCity service was reduced to an hourly shuttle in both directions and shuttles also operated between Witham and Braintree, Colchester and Harwich Town, and from Ipswich to Lowestoft and Peterborough.
