Drivers have reported “huge delays” caused by roadworks on a busy route into Ipswich this morning.
Motorists travelling along Wherstead Road said the two way traffic lights set up for Anglian Water’s works had caused traffic to build from the A14.
One driver said: “It took half an hour to get from the A14 sliproad, down the hill past the ski slope and then reach the lights in Wherstead Road.”
Another motorist claimed that despite the delays - no workmen could be seen on the site.
The roadworks are listed on Suffolk County Council’s roadworks website as scheduled to last Tuesday-Thursday while Anglian Water carries out repairs.
Anglian Water has been contacted for comment.
