A MAN involved in a horrific smash with a tree has been released from hospital.

A MAN involved in a horrific smash with a tree has been released from hospital.

The driver of the wrecked black For Mondeo had to be cut from his car after the accident on Whatfield Road, just before Whatfield village, at about 8.25am on Thursday.

It took almost an hour for emergency services to free him and he was then air lifted to West Suffolk Hospital with what were believed to be life threatening injuries.

However he was released from hospital yesterday.
