A well-known Elvis impersonator from Ipswich has died at the age of 57 following a short battle with cancer.

Father-of-three Thomas Storey, who was born on the Chantry estate, was a well known face around town who entertained crowds all over Suffolk and Essex with his larger-than-life Elvis act.

He spent 12 years in Benidorm performing his tribute act to thousands of holiday goers

Mr Storey passed away yesterday having been diagnosed with cancer in November.

His sister Vanessa Storey has paid tribute to her brother, describing him a man who ‘loved to laugh’.

She said: “He was Elvis mad from a very early age, he idolised him.

“I remember him crying on his 14th birthday when Elvis died.

“He loved his music and performed all round Suffolk and Essex and also spent 12 years performing in Benidorm.

“He was a born entertainer, an easy-going, happy man who loved to laugh.

“He was a generous, a lovely soul and a gentleman to the end.

“He just loved people and being on stage.

“We’ve still got his Elvis suits at home, he was always having them made.”
