Olivia Bazlinton was a lively girl with a "great sense of fun" who lived life to the full, her dad Chris said.

She turned 14 on Monday.

Olivia and her friend, who was the same age, died Saturday morning as they tried to dash across the tracks at Elsenham, Essex, to catch a train for a day out shopping.

Details of exactly what happened were still unclear, Mr Bazlinton said.

A Network Rail manager described the incident, which is being investigated by British Transport Police, as "devastating'.
