SUFFOLK Police are hunting for yet another bogus caller after an elderly woman was conned in Polstead.The con man struck at around 2pm yesterday, when a lady aged in her 80s was unloading her car.

SUFFOLK Police are hunting for yet another bogus caller after an elderly woman was conned in Polstead.

The con man struck at around 2pm yesterday, when a lady aged in her 80s was unloading her car.

She was approached by a man claiming that he had being doing some work for her neighbour and he needed to look at it from her garden.

The pensioner accompanied the man into the neighbour's garden, and he asked her to wait. But then he climbed over the garden wall, went into her open home and stole her bag, which contained a quantity of cash and personal items.

The offender is described as a white male, around 5ft 10ins in height, of a stocky build, and around 26 years old. At the time of the incident he was wearing navy jeans.

Hadleigh Police would like anyone to come forward who was in the area at the time of the incident who has any information that may help their enquiries.
