Trimley, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich motorists admit drink-driving

A 60-year-old woman who was three times the limit is among three drink-drivers who were disqualified from driving when they appeared before Ipswich magistrates.
Janine Martin, of Mill Pouch, Trimley St Mary, near Felixstowe, pleaded guilty to driving while above the alcohol limit on April 15.
The 60-year-old had 106 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when her Renault Clio was stopped in High Road, Trimley St Mary. The legal limit is 35mcgs.
Prosecutor Lesla Small said Martin had gone to McColls convenience store and was seen to be unsteady on her feet by a member of staff. Martin went into the shop and bought wine.
She got back into her car. Police arrived and followed into Faulkeners Way.
Magistrates banned Martin from driving for 25 months and fined her £400. She must also pay £85 costs and £40 to the victims’ fund.
Brewery worker Ben Huxtable, of Sicklesmere Road, Bury St Edmunds, also admitted drink-driving in a separate hearing.

The 30-year-old was nearly three times the limit when caught in his Peugeot 206 on April 15 in Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds.
The court heard the vehicle was stopped at around 1.40am. Huxtable was said to have been slurring his words when police spoke to him. He told an officer he had only had a couple of pints.
However, a breath test showed he had 93mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath.
Huxtable, representing himself, said he could offer no excuse for what he had done.
He added: “I did fall out with my girlfriend earlier in the day. A friend invited me round to take my mind off it.”
Huxtable was disqualified from driving for 23 months and fined £400.
He must also pay costs of £85 and £40 to the victims’ fund.
Meanwhile an Ipswich woman has requested a special reasons hearing on June 8 in the hope of avoiding a ban after admitting drink-driving.
Marion Kelly, of Kings Way, pleaded guilty to the offence which occurred on December 3 in Nelson Road, Ashbocking.
The 36-year-old was driving a Peugeot 406 at the time.
A blood test showed she had 124 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 mls of blood. The legal limit is 80mlgs.
