COMEDY star Reg Varney has died at the age of 92, his daughter has announced.Varney was probably best known as the star of the long-running ITV sitcom On The Buses, in which he played driver Stan Butler, during the early 1970sThe sitcom also spawned a number of big-screen spin-offs.

The sitcom also spawned a number of big-screen spin-offs.

He had been an entertainer since the second world war, but it was only with his role in On the Buses that he really became a household name.

His wife died in 2002 but leaves a daughter, two grandchildren, and a great grandchild.
