A GRIEVING mother today told of the tragic twist of fate that placed her daughter at the centre of an accident which claimed her life.

Kate Wasyluk had intended to spend last Friday evening with her family - but at the last minute changed her plans and attended an event at St Clement's Sports and Social Club in Ipswich.

As she left the night, the 25-year-old and close pal Emma Harold were killed when they were involved in a collision with a car in Foxhall Road.

Today, Kate's mother Dot Richardson told how she had received a poignant text message from her daughter, sent just hours before her death, which revealed the last minute change of heart.

It would be the last time the pair would communicate.

Mrs Richardson, of Chelmondiston, said it was Kate's compassionate nature which led her to opt for a night out with her friends.

She added: “Kate is still with me now.”
