Two dead in road crash
AN investigation is underway today into the cause of an accident which left two men from Ipswich dead and another two injured.Daniel Prescott, 22, of Dombey Road, and Dwayne Hasnip, 19, of Allenby Road, died when the black Volkswagen Golf they were passengers in left the Ipswich-bound carriageway near Holten St Mary.
TWO devastated families today spoke of their grief at the death of two best friends who died in an horrific crash on the A12.
Dwayne Hasnip, 19, and Daniel Prescott, 22, both from Ipswich, died at the scene of the crash after the black Volkswagen Golf they were travelling in hit the central reservation near Holton St Mary on Saturday.
In a statement issued by Suffolk police their distraught families remembered and paid tribute to two men who shared a close friendship and a love of football.
The family of Mr Hasnip, who lived in Allenby Road, said: “Dwayne was a lovely young man who had worked hard since leaving school.
“He loved his football and other sports. He was well known and liked by everybody.
“At this time of tragic loss, Dwayne was with his best friend Daniel.”

They added that Mr Hasnip would be sadly missed by his father Mick, his brother Vincent and his sisters Tammi and Jade.
In a statement released today they said: “Dwayne was very fond of his nieces and nephews.
“The family wishes to thank everyone for their support at this sad time.”
Mr Prescott, who lived in Dombey Road, was described as a “beautiful son” who was always smiling.
Today Mr Prescott's father Hollies, his mother Stephanie and his brother Nathan paid tribute to his love of life.
They said: “He will be greatly missed by his grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.
“Daniel had a love of football, playing for Walton Rangers FC and St Johns FC.
“He was always happy and smiling with a zest for life.”
And they added: “Hollies, Stephanie and Nathan wish to thank all their family and friends for their love and support at this very difficult time following the tragic loss of their beautiful son and brother, Daniel Prescott.”
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, which happened on the Ipswich-bound carriageway about half-a-mile from the B1070 East Bergholt junction shortly before 3am.
The driver of the vehicle, who has been named as Marlon Daley, of Ipswich, was injured along with a fourth person in the car although police said those injuries are not life-threatening.
Suffolk police control room supervisor Polly Cowan, said: “The 29-year-old driver and another passenger were taken to Ipswich hospital with minor injuries. They have since been released from hospital.”
No other vehicles were involved.
