AN elderly couple have died today after fire broke out at a house.
Fire crews were searching for a third person believed to have been in the property in Saffron Walden, emergency service workers said.
Police said the fire broke out in the semi-detached house at around 9am.
Firefighters said the man and woman who died were believed to be aged 70 and 80.
Investigators were trying to establish the cause of the blaze but one possibility was a gas leak, said a fire service spokeswoman.
