TWO people were taken to hospital today after an accident on the B1107.

TWO people were taken to hospital today after an accident on the B1107 Thetford Road at Santon Downham, near Thetford, today.

Police, three fire crews and paramedics were called at 9.50am.

A man who had been trapped in a vehicle was released and taken by air ambulance to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds with possibly life-changing injuries.

One person with minor injuries was taken by road ambulance to West Suffolk Hospital

The accident involved a Chrysler and a Peugeot van.

The road is currently closed and diversions are in place at the Brandon end and the A11 end.

The road is expected to be closed for three hours.
