The first took place on the A120 near Colchester at around 6pm last night when a 46-year-old motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a silver VW Golf.

The driver of the golf, a 68-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of careless driving and has since been released on bail.

At 10.30pm last night on the A1060 Roxwell Road in Chelmsford, a cyclist was killed in a collision with a Range Rover.

The 42-year-old was taken to Broomfield Hospital where he later died.
