Two men who were rescued from a frozen lake today died in hospital, it was confirmed today.

The men, and two others, were rescued from the lake in Watermead Country Park, Leicester, by emergency services just after 2.30pm.
They were taken to hospital but the Leicester Royal Infirmary confirmed tonight that two had died and a third remained in a critical condition.
mf A spokeswoman for the hospital said: "We can confirm that three adults have been treated in our accident and emergency department at the Leicester Royal Infirmary this afternoon.
"Despite the concerted efforts of our highly-trained emergency staff we were unfortunately unable to resuscitate two of the men.
"A third is in a critical condition.

"Our condolences to the families of the men who have died."
Earlier today, East Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called to the scene, along with other emergency services.
A spokeswoman said: "We received an emergency call from the Police and Fire Services at 2.37pm today to report four males in the water at Watermead Country Park.
"Our control emergency medical dispatcher responded immediately by dispatching highly skilled crews in three land ambulances, the air ambulance, a fast response vehicle and the EMAS hazardous area response team.
"An EMAS operational support manager also attended to manage the scene and liaise with the police and fire.
"The males were transported by land ambulance to the Leicester Royal Infirmary. At that time two were in a serious condition and two in a minor condition.'
