TWO men are today on police bail after being arrested in connection with a vicious attack in Ipswich.

A 40-year-old man suffered serious injuries when he was assaulted with a metal bar in Tower Street on Sunday night.
The man was taken to Ipswich Hospital with cuts to his head and severe bruises to his face. He is now in a stable condition.
A 40-year-old man and a 29-year-old man, both from Ipswich, were arrested and released on bail until they are due to report to Ipswich police station on October 17.
It was the second serious attack in the town in three days after a 38-year-old man was stabbed on a footpath near Woodbridge Road just after midnight last Friday.
The man was assaulted near the Samuel Court block of flats and is still recovering in Ipswich Hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses to both incidents to come forward to help with the investigations.
