The first of these was at 12.30pm when a lorry and car were in collision on the southbound carriageway at East Bergholt.
The car ended up on its side blocking one lane of carriageway. One person was taken to Ipswich Hospital although the extent of the injuries were not known.
Just over half an hour later another collision on the northbound carriageway near to Copdock interchange.
The accident, involving two lorries and a car, happened shortly after 1pm and left the entire carriageway blocked. One person was taken to Ipswich Hospital and again the extent of injuries was not known.
These latest two accidents came only hours after two other collisions caused long tailbacks on the A12 at Copdock.
