TWO people have died in separate crashes on Suffolk roads in the past 12 hours.

A female driver died today when her car overturned on the A14.

The accident happened on the Ipswich bound carriageway just outside of Newmarket shortly before 8.25am. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were delays to traffic for several hours as two of the three lanes of carriageway were blocked off while emergency services attended the scene.

And last night a male driver died when his car left the road and hit a telegraph pole in Grundisburgh.

A Good Samaritan came to the aid of the driver following the crash at 6pm.

The injured man was taken to Ipswich Hospital where he died.
