HE'S BACK – Pinky the globe trotting pig has realised there is no sty like home and is back where he belongs in Kesgrave today.

Since December the stone pig has been making his mark across the world after he decided to make a bid for freedom from his Fox Lea home.

Like Phileas Fogg, he made it round the world in 80 days but arrived home on Saturday looking slightly shame faced to say the least.

On his travels, even though it is a well-known fact that pigs can't fly, Pinky had made it as far as New York, Egypt and Europe.

He even stopped off at Gretna Green to marry his new found love – much to the distress of his long-term piggy partner Perky, who he had left behind in Kesgrave.

But his loving wife has decided that Ipswich is just not good enough for her and she has decided not to return to her husband's home town.

Question marks hung over Pinky's sudden disappearance, as he would never have been able to escape alone on his short stone legs.

However the Pig Liberation Organisation, based in Grange Farm, Kesgrave has now owned up to being responsible for his escape.

In an e-mail to the Evening Star the organisation said that they had been the ones who liberated Pinky, but that the homesick pig had slipped away quietly in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Although the PLO said that Pinky is sorely missed, his owner Moira Briggs was delighted by his return.

She said: "He was just sitting on the doorstep. He said that he was going to try and make it up with Perky if she will have him back but she is playing hard to get at the moment."

However rather than being pampered for his homecoming, the Briggs family promptly left Pinky alone while they went off on a four day holiday!
