A man threatening to jump from the Orwell Bridge last night was talked down by officers, police have said.
Police were called to the scene on the A14 at just after 7.20pm yesterday.
Trained negotiators spoke to the man and he was “successfully talked down” at around 11.40pm, a Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said this morning.
It is believed he was taken into medical care at a hospital nearby.
The incident caused the A14 eastbound carriageway to close for several hours before it reopened at just before midnight, the force spokesman added.
