Police have cancelled their appeal for information after reports that a man was slashed with a knife near Ipswich railway station on Monday evening.
Police were called just before 7.10pm, to the incident in Princes Street.
The victim reported being involved in an argument with two other men and was then slashed with a knife on the bridge, along the opposite side to The Malt House.
He was taken by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital for treatment
A police cordon was put in place, with the road partially closed on the approach to the station for around 90 minutes.
The man continues to receive medical treatment but has withdrawn his assault allegation.
