Update: Police helicopter and officers stood down in Ipswich after search fails to find offender

A major search for a wanted person which included the police helicopter in Ipswich has been called off.

Ground units and a police helicopter were called to the Landseer Road and Nacton Road areas of the town at around 12.45pm today to search for a person officers want to speak to in connection with a series of burglaries.

The offender was not found and the search was called off at around 3pm, a Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said.
