Ipswich Residents will have two further chances to find out more about plans for three new bridges over the River Orwell at two drop-in sessions next month.

The sessions, at Cliff Lane Scout Hall on May 17 between 4pm and 8pm and at St Mary at Stoke Church Hall on May 23 between 4pm and 8pm will give people the chance to find out more about the possible routes of the bridges and ask county council officials about the impact of the development.

The first event at the Dance East centre on the Waterfront last month attracted hundreds of visitors – and the question of the new crossings has been an issue raised on the doorsteps on either side of the river during the current local election campaign.

There is due to be full public consultation later this year before planning permission is sought – and the new bridges are expected to be built between 2020 and 2023 when they should be open for traffic.
