SEVEN people have been wounded after a gunman opened fire inside a restaurant in Carson City, Nevada, officials said tonight.

Carson City Sheriff Kenny Furlong said the shooting happened at about 9am today at an International House Of Pancakes restaurant and the gunman was among the injured.

Special Agent Patrick Turner, spokesman for the FBI Nevada office in Las Vegas, said seven people were wounded and investigators believe only one gunman was involved.

Local and state police and FBI agents have descended on the scene on South Carson Street - the state capital’s main street.
