Van and chimney fires keep crews busy

FIREFIGHTERS fought a number of blazes across the county overnight.Among them was a fire in a van parked in Gower Street in Ipswich.

Among them was a fire in a van parked in Gower Street in Ipswich.

A crew from the Princes Street fire station was called to the street at 12.15am where they found the van alight.

A fire also broke out in the chimney of a farmhouse in Stone Street, Crowfield, 5.15pm yesterday. The fire was under control just after 6pm.

And there was a second chimney fire in a house in The Street at Wattisfield just after 8.30am. A crew from Ixworth brought that blaze under control just before 10pm.
