POLICE investigating attacks on an Ipswich school say they have received a number of calls from the public.

An appeal went out for information after two arrows were fired into the playground of Whitton Primary School, apparently during Sunday night, and discovered by the caretaker early on Monday.

The school's kitchen window was also damaged by plastic pellets, fired by a BB (ball bearing) gun on three successive nights last week.

Today Pc Andy Blacker, said: "This is an on-going investigation. We have had a number of calls and I am pleased with the response."

He said: "None of the incidents have happened during school time and it is not considered there is a risk to the children."

Headteacher Ann Taylor said the school was getting a lot of support from the community over the incidents.
