ANIMAL lovers in Suffolk are demanding tougher gun laws today after hooligans shot a cat in an "evil and vicious" attack.
Two-year-old Gizmo, a white tom, was targeted in a shooting that came in the same week the RSPCA announced the number of attacks on animals is on the increase.
The animal charity is now calling for a change in the law concerning airguns.
Gizmo's owner Dominic Gordon, 28, said: "I am thoroughly disgusted that some evil, vicious little thug has deemed it fun to shoot a defenceless animal.
"We face quite substantial costs for
calling out the vet but it's worth it because he's our cat and we love him – even if this thug doesn't."
Mr Gordon was alerted to the attack when he noticed spots of blood on the carpet at his home in Shannon Road, Ipswich.
