MURDERED schoolgirl Vicky Hall will never be forgotten – as today her parents' dream of a memorial to their much-loved daughter came true.
Tears of sadness and smiles of joy mingled as Vicky's thrilled parents Graham and Lorinda Hall heard the news they had been waiting for – a fantastic £210,000 grant for the project to bear her name.
That will be added to £100,000 raised in Suffolk by an Evening Star appeal to build a mini-soccer academy for the teenager's home village.
It is hoped work will start on the scheme – a sports pavilion in Trimley St Mary and a football development programme – this summer.
