A vigil to remember the life of a three-year-old girl from Suffolk who died after being thrown from an inflatable trampoline will be held this weekend.

The tribute to Ava-May Littleboy, from Somersham, will take place on Gorleston beach, where the tragedy happened, on Sunday from 6pm.

People are asked to bring sweet pea and forget me not seeds to be placed in pink balloons which will be inflated.

The biodegradable balloons can then be burst at home and the seeds planted in gardens in Ava-May’s memory.

Attendees are encouraged to wear pink – Ava-May’s favourite colour – to Sunday’s event, and will be asked to blow bubbles in the sky.

The event has been organised by mother-of-two Emma Wright, of Bradwell, who had got in touch with one of Ava-May’s relatives following her death.

The 30-year-old said she hoped the gesture would offer comfort to the little girl’s family.

She added: “Her death has shocked everyone in Gorleston.”

Gorleston-based Celebration Station donated 100 balloons for the vigil.

Ava-May died in hospital from a head injury after she was flung from a bouncy inflatable on Gorleston beach last Sunday, July 1.
