The British Red Cross is appealing for volunteers to help with its bucket collections at the Ipswich Town v Sheffield United game on March 10.

The charity is collecting for people in Suffolk living in crisis, with all funds going to the cause.

It is looking for 16 people to help collect at the Portman Road stadium between 1.30pm and 3pm, with all kit and buckets being provided.

The cause offers first aid coverage at events and a help from hospital service among other things.

Senior community fundraiser for Norfolk and Suffolk, Paul Fleet, said: “I am really excited that we have been given permission to collect at Ipswich’s football ground. I am sure the people of Suffolk would like to help and the fans will be generous.

“Many people think of British Red Cross as a national or international charity and are unaware of what we do locally.”
