IPSWICH Hospital today remained on alert after a tip-off that television crews were planning to do undercover filming in the maternity unit.
The Evening Star revealed last week that the hospital had put up posters around its ward to alert staff, patients and visitors of the possibility of secret filming.
Today, Jan Roswell, spokeswoman for the hospital's management, said: “There's been nothing untoward to report as yet but we are still asking staff to keep an eye out.
“We are keeping the posters up and don't tend to relax our guard. It would be an invasion of our patients' privacy to be filmed without being asked, and we are not prepared to let that happen.”
The anonymous tip-off told hospital staff that a film crew wanted to focus on the maternity ward's cleanliness.
The hospital said it would be happy to welcome film crews, the media, and patient representatives into the unit.
