POLICE are today warning shops and firms to be on the alert after two men used counterfeit Scottish notes to try to pay for items at a business in Woodbridge.
POLICE are today warning shops and firms to be on the alert after two men used counterfeit Scottish notes to try to pay for items at a business in Woodbridge.
The incident happened between 11.30am and 12.30pm on Saturday January 6 when two Irish men entered the shop and each offered a bogus £50 note to pay for their goods.
Officers are asking anyone who has been offered similar notes to contact Woodbridge police on 01473 613500.
They are also urging businesses across the county to be on the alert and to make sure they check money given in payment.
