There are now five cranes towering over the neighbouring sites at Regatta Quay and The Mill as work on the massive new developments gets underway.
Traffic approaching the area from Wherstead Road can see the skyline dominated by these new - but temporary - landmarks as they help build the new developments which will change the Waterfront forever.
Set against a clear blue sky on a sunny day, the cranes stand out dramatically.
And within two years the skyline will change again with two 14-storey blocks going up at Regatta Quay and a 23-storey block - the tallest in Suffolk due to be built at The Mill.
