WHILE Felixstowe may have escaped the snowy weather today, its seafront took another pounding from the waves.
Unexpectedly high seas battered the already-damaged promenade at the south of the resort - with huge waves crashing across the walkway and causing a spectacular sight.
Youngsters played “chicken” with the waves, running for cover as soon as the spray hit the prom edge.
Council contractors have removed damaged sections of concrete prom and coping stones smashed by the sea, and barriers have been put up around the damaged areas. Steps to the beach have also been roped off.
