POLICE in Essex dealt with 80 road accidents and 24 broken-down vehicles in the space of one day as wintery weather hit the county.
There were also 236 reports of youngsters being anti-social by throwing snowballs during Friday which saw a total of just under 600 weather-related incidents.
Offices in the county urged drivers to continue taking care in the icy conditions which were expected to continue throughout the weekend.
