FORMER classmates from Australia, Thailand and America will return to Ipswich to attend a reunion of the Stoke High School class of 1989.

Preparations are well underway with more than 100 ex-pupils set to converge on the Corn Exchange on July 25 for the 20-year anniversary event.

The celebration is being organised by Kerry Laredo, ne Mildenhall, who currently lives in Normandy, France, with her husband and three-year-old daughter, Sophie.

The 36-year-old said: “It should be a great night with people coming from as far away as Australia to be there.

“There were 180 people in our year and 100 came to the last reunion ten years ago so I am hoping for a similar number this time around.”

Mrs Laredo is planning to return to live in Ipswich later this year.

“I'm from Ipswich and I miss it,” she said. “I have had eight years in France but my heart lies here.”

A number of former teachers have already confirmed their attendance, including Mrs Laredo's old form tutor Sally Robinson.

Tickets are 10 and include a buffet and disco. A licensed bar will also be available. There is no dress code.

To confirm your place, e-mail Mrs Laredo at kerrystokereunion2009@hotmail.fr, or send cheques, made payable to Kerry Laredo, c/o Jadida, Ridgway Road, Pyrford, Surrey, GU22 8PR.

Alternatively, former students can pay via PayPal to cloud9france@aol.com.

Mrs Laredo said she was also contactable via social networking website Facebook.
