Friday, February 5
It’s all about the blues this Friday. Head over to Pump & Grind for some drag karaoke or Cult Cafe where Hot Tramp, Ipswich based blues and rock n roll band will be playing
Check them out hereSee Back Porch at The Mulberry Tree. They will be bringing their unique blend of skiffle/blues to the bar from 9pm.

Pump & Grind
Continuing the hip hop theme after the visit of DJ Maseo from De La Soul this week, Pump & Grind will be running a J Dilla Day on the great man’s birthday at the bar with a very special guest. J Dilla’s longest serving collaborator and lifetime friend, the one and only Phat Kat will be in Ipswich.
J Dilla/Jay Dee, was an American record producer and rapper who emerged from the mid-1990s underground hip hop scene in Detroit, Michigan. He was known for a string of singles and remix projects, for huge artists such as Janet Jackson,Pharcyde, De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, A Tribe Called Quest, Q-Tip’s solo album and others.
Hosted by Booda French, the bar will be playing 100% Dilla all day, so why not pop in and enjoy a bagel or breakfast over some Jay Dee beats -should be a good one.

More Than Soul are making their Mulberry Tree debut playing motown, funk and soul. This one is not to be missed! Doors open at 9pm.

Tuesday, February 9
It’s a rollover! As nobody won the top prize, Pump & Grind’s next quiz night’s prize is a huge £400. Test your brain skills and head over on Tuesday night.
Usual rules - maximum six per team, no phones. Sign up by 7.30pm.
The winning team will have the option of taking £50, or going to the final round to have a chance of winning £400.

And if you are preapred to venture further afield why not take a trip to Stowmarket to see Ammy Wragg and Poetry by Heart.
Poetry by Heart is a national poetry recitation competition for young people aged 14 to 18 taking place at The John Peel Centre.
1There will some fantastic poems, read by talented young Suffolk students with a guest performance from acclaimed poet and battle rapper Mark Grist (think 8 Mile). The evening is hosted by the fantastic storyteller and musician Justine De Mierre.
All ages welcome, entry is free but tickets must be booked in advance from Event Brite.And if you are staying home
