The chance of snowfall to make a picture-perfect Christmas Day rose sharply today after the coldest night of the winter was followed by the year's first flakes of snow.
And more snow is expected over the coming days - with 10cms predicted to fall on Friday.
And punters who want to have a flutter on the snowflakes were can get odds of 2-1 from Ladbrokes on a white Christmas in Ipswich.
The odds for a snow-free Christmas day were 4-11.
- Other bookies were only offering odds on London as the nearest city to Suffolk's county town, with William Hill offering 5-2 for a white Christmas while Bradfields Sports Bookmakers in Norwich Road offered 5-2 on a white Christmas and 7-2 on a snow-free yuletide.
