CONTAINER-handling operations at Britain's biggest port were called to a halt this afternoon as gusty winds of more than 45mph buffeted the coast.Officials at Felixstowe said there was disruption to both rail and yard work and, for safety reasons, access was being restricted to operational areas.

CONTAINER-handling operations at Britain's biggest port were called to a halt this afternoon as gusty winds of more than 45mph buffeted the coast.
Officials at Felixstowe said there was disruption to both rail and yard work and, for safety reasons, access was being restricted to operational areas.
Vehicles were being marshalled on site and would be processed through to operational areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
A port spokesman said there would be delays for hauliers and truckers may wish to consider re-scheduling their arrivals.
Operation Stack was not running yet. Around 1,200 vehicles can be parked in haulage yards and on the port before this is needed.
