PORT chiefs have given early warning that quayside operations could be disrupted today by the weather.
Officials at the Port of Felixstowe say they have received a weather forecast which indicates high winds at or above the container terminal's safe working limits.
It expects disruption to occur between 3pm today and 6am tomorrow.
“There is a high probability of some disruption to rail and yard operations as a result of these adverse weather conditions,” said a spokesman.
The port will be monitoring the situation and will contact hauliers if an updated forecast is received or Operation Stack is needed.
Cranes on the quaysides cannot work if the wind reaches 45mph.
