A WOMAN from Frinton has admitted killing her partner by stabbing him in the leg.
Anne Starmore pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Michael Bernhardt at Chelmsford Crown Court this afternoon.
The 61-year-old died on March 20 this year at a flat in Clandon House in Queen's Road, Frinton-on-Sea.
A post mortem examination found the former lorry driver had died as a result of a single stab wound.
Starmore, 59, of Queen's Road, Frinton-on-Sea had been initially charged with murder and was due to stand trial next week but prosecutors accepted her plea of guilty to manslaughter today.
She had denied murder and Judge Christopher Ball QC ordered that the charge should lie on file.
Starmore, who was wearing a red shirt and a dark suit showed little emotion during the short hearing.
She will be sentenced in December after a pre-sentence report has been prepared.
