A TEENAGER who exposed himself to a 69-year-old woman in Kesgrave got more than he bargained for after she hit him with her umbrella.

The woman was walking along Orchard Grove between 11 and 11.20am yesterday morning when the youth came out of an alleyway and approached her.

He then spoke to her before exposing himself.

The woman then hit him with her umbrella and the teenager ran off towards Cedar Road.

Det Con Jon Moos, of Woodbridge CID, said: "While we can't condone this course of action, after being confronted by this youth, who exposed himself to her, the lady concerned appears to have reacted instinctively, and quite rightly to defend herself.

"The youth definitely got more than he bargained for, and we would appeal to anyone who may know his identity, or may have seen him in the area at the time, to contact us."

The youth is described as white, about 15-years-old, around 5ft 8ins tall, with short dark hair and a pale, spotty complexion. He spoke with a local accent.

At the time he was wearing black trousers, black shoes, a dark anorak and was carrying a dark coloured bag across his back.

Anyone who may recognise his description or may have information about the incident is asked to contact Woodbridge Police on 01473 383460.
