A 36-year-old woman has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life following a fire at a home in Ipswich on Christmas Day, police have said.

Kerri Mills, of La Salle Close, was arrested yesterday following the fire at the property also in La Salle Close at around 9pm on December 25.

A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said: “She was taken into custody at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where she was interviewed before being charged.

“She has been detained in custody overnight pending an appearance before (South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Ipswich) this morning.”
