A WOMAN has died after a fire broke out at a house earlier today in Sprowston, Norfolk.Officers dealing with the blaze were today not treating the fire as suspicious although investigations will continue.
A 65-YEAR-old woman has died after a fire broke out at a house today in Sprowston, Norfolk.
Norfolk Police have confirmed the woman as Pauline Crane.
Her 39-year-old son, his 37-year-old partner and three boys, aged 11, 13, and 15, managed to escape the blaze, which happened at around 2am today.
The children were all treated for smoke inhalation and the 39-year-old man was taken to hospital with a broken ankle.
Emergency services said the man had used a ladder to help the youngsters escape and had tried to save the woman.
Officers are not treating the fire as suspicious although investigations will continue.
