POLICE were today investigating links between two armed raids on a Stowmarket petrol station that happened in the space of just two weeks.Both attacks happened late at night and targeted female shop assistants.
POLICE were today continuing to investigate the latest armed raid attempt on a Suffolk petrol station.
As reported in later editions of yesterday's Evening Star, the Esso garage in Needham Road, Combs, was attacked at around 11.10pm on Thursday.
A man wielding what was thought to be a handgun burst into the store demanding money. But the female cashier refused his request and he was forced to flee empty handed.
Police are today continuing to investigate links between the latest raid and an attack on the at about 8.45pm on March 31. An armed robber brandishing a pistol escaped with money in that incident.
Both attacks happened late at night and targeted female shop assistants.
