Woman freed from car on A12 in Essex

FIREFIGHTERS had to free a woman trapped in a car following a crash on the A12 in Essex.Four fire crews attended the incident on the northbound carriageway between junctions 16 and 17 at Howe Green, near Chelmsford, at about 9.20pm.

FIREFIGHTERS had to free a woman trapped in a car following a crash on the A12 in Essex.

Four fire crews attended the incident on the northbound carriageway between junctions 16 and 17 at Howe Green, near Chelmsford, at about 9.20pm yesterday.

Firefighters used two sets of hydraulic cutting equipment to release the motorist from the wreckage of her car after it collided with the support of a bridge over the A12.

She was released by 10.10pm and was taken to hospital.
