POLICE want to trace a man in Bury St Edmunds after a suspicious incident in the town.

A woman was approached by the man as she walked through a grave yard and towards Kevelar Way.

The 46-year-old became aware of being followed by the man at about 5.10pm on Wednesday.

The white male, described as around 24-years-old and of stocky build, started running up behind her. The woman stood aside to let him past but he insisted she should go first.

He eventually went past her but continued to walk very slowly and turning round to look at her.

Pc Lindsay Whittaker, from Suffolk Police said: "Although no offences were committed, the woman was left quite shaken by this man's behaviour. We would urge this man to make contact with us so we can establish reasons for his behaviour."

The man was described as having very short, possibly shaved hair and was wearing a black jacket with a yellow stripe, dark trousers and a woollen hat.

Any one with information should contact Pc Whittaker on 01284 774100, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
