Woman holds onto her handbag as two men try to rob her on Ipswich’s Stoke Bridge

Two men tried to steal a woman’s handbag in Ipswich during the early hours of the morning.

Police are appealing for information following the attempted robbery on Sunday around 2am.

A woman was walking home along Stoke Bridge when she was approached from behind by two men who attempted to steal her handbag.

The victim reported that one of the men grabbed her arm but she held onto her bag.

The two men then ran off empty handed in the direction of the town centre.

The woman said two women in a vehicle came to her aid a short time later and officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have spoken to in the area around this time.
