A 50-YEAR-OLD woman has been taken to hospital after falling into a Suffolk river.

A 50-YEAR-OLD woman has been taken to hospital after falling into a Suffolk river.

The incident took place in Bury St Edmunds at 12.44pm today.

Paramedics were called after the woman was seen near to The Broadway, close to Eastgate Street.

It is believed she had fallen into the River Lark.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said the woman was conscious and breathing but “not alert” when she was taken to West Suffolk Hospital.
